911 Lone Star 4×09 ‘Road Kill’ Recap/Review

The episode opens with Marjan helping Kylie on a bus to Fort Lauderdale, while unbeknownst to them, Grant, who has posted bail, is watching them from a distance.
On her drive back to Austin, Marjan is in for the fight of her life, as Grant runs her car, as well as a red SUV, with a girl named Mouse in it, off the road.
As a groggy and injured Marjan is woken by Mouse, asking her to come help the family in the car, Grant is seen waking in the crashed Winnebago, and grabbing a gun before limping out of it.
Back in Austin, at Marjan’s homecoming party, the members of the 126 realize Marjan is over two hours late, leading to Owen, Judd and Paul heading out in search of her.
Over the course of a few hours, an injured and deteriorating Marjan, and Mouse, stumble through the woods, running from Grant.
Eventually, Marjan finds her way into a culvert, where she later gets cornered by Grant, and in a desperate move, fires a flare directly into his neck, killing him.
Later, after being rescued from the culvert by Owen, it’s revealed that Mouse is a young Marjan, and she hallucinated her younger self in keeping herself alive.
As we see Marjan in the hospital to close out the episode, a bouquet of flowers gets delivered to her room with a note addressed to Mouse.
In a flashback scene, we see a young Marjan in a hospital bed where we learn the red SUV she had been in with her friend’s family had crashed, and she was the only survivor.
Parallels
There were many scenes in this episode that paralleled 4×04. The scene where Judd calls Grace to have her track down Marjan’s phone paralleled when T.K. called Grace to track down Carlos’ phone.
The scene where Carlos tells Mateo that Marjan needs them paralleled the scene of Gabriel telling T.K. that Carlos needs them.
The scene where Owen told Marjan she saved her own life after she thanked him for saving hers, heavily paralleled the scene where T.K. told Carlos he saved his own life.
Natacha Karam
Natacha Karam absolutely slayed episode nine! She had to stumble around running away from a killer, injured and getting more and more weak, and everything looked so real, as you could see the emotion and the pain in her face.
I really loved seeing the backstory of Marjan and how her nickname as a child was Mouse, but now, as a young woman, she’s the opposite of what her nickname as a child was.
It was also beautiful watching Marjan struggle to stay alive for Mouse, knowing that if she died, the girl would die too, which showed Marjan’s tenacity in trying to save Mouse.

4X10 synopsis: Tommy goes paramedic crew-to-crew against her former employer, private contractors, Paragon Medics, as they deal with emergencies involving a dialysis patient and at a perfume factory. Meanwhile, Owen hits it off with a beautiful woman he meets at a fundraiser.
Paramedic Pearce returns in 4×10 as a guest star, making me believe he will be one of the Paragon paramedics. Knowing his animosity and hostility towards the 126 paramedics, leads me to believe Pearce might be the injured Paragon paramedic in the promo, and the 126 will be swooping in to save Pearce’s life.
There will also be a cancer fundraiser in 4×10, which Carlos is going to be attending, so we get Tarlos in suits next episode, but I am also hoping we will get flirty Tarlos at the fundraiser too.
