Robert Strand
As seen in season three, Owen met his brother Robert for the first time. In ‘Donors,’ Robert comes to visit Owen in Austin, bringing news with him that could affect Owen and T.K.

At a family dinner with Robert, T.K., Carlos and Owen, T.K. asks to see photos of his cousins. As Robert is showing a photo of his youngest daughter, he hesitates, almost as if he’s forgotten her name. Robert also pulls out some relics that belonged to his and Owen’s father, handing Owen their father’s Leatherman as well as a bottle of vintage wine, while handing T.K. his grandfather’s journal.
Later the next night, in Owen’s house, while drinking the wine, Owen notices a hand tremor Robert has. Asking about it, Robert reveals it’s the early signs of Huntington’s Disease, also revealing that it’s a hereditary disease.

126 Rescue
The 126 arrive to a car crash to find out the offending driver has fled the scene, leaving an injured passenger in the backseat of the engulfed car.
Later, in the ambulance, the passenger is seen to have a crudely stapled up incision site from a kidney transplant.
Arriving to the hospital, Tommy has Nancy run in to get hospital personnel, while T.K. remains in the back of the ambulance with the patient. Tommy suddenly hears a struggle ensue in the ambulance, and rounding the back of the ambulance, Tommy finds T.K. on the floor, who has been punched in the face with the patient nowhere in sight.
Later, it’s revealed that no hospital locations near the car accident site performed any kidney transplants that day, leading to the question, where did the passenger get the kidney he apparently has.
Grace and Carlos/Organ Donor Ring
Grace receives a 911 call from a disoriented woman, Lexi, who has woken up drugged and, in a bathtub, full of ice in a motel room. Getting out of the tub, Lexi sees she’s been cut into and someone has crudely stapled up the incision site.
By the time first responders locate the room she’s in, Lexi appears to be non-responsive, but rescue 122 eventually brings her back to sinus rhythm. Later, at the hospital, it’s determined that Lexi’s kidney has been removed, and all Lexi remembers is meeting a man named Mike on a dating app who she later met up with at a bar. With the police and lead detective of the case, Detective McGregor, not believing Lexi’s story, Grace enlists the help of Carlos in investigating what happened to Lexi, including baiting herself on the dating app.

Introducing her to Detective Washington, who eventually takes over the case from Detective McGregor, Grace reveals she has found 911 call records from other states of multiple women who seem to be victims of their organs being removed.
Later identifying the man who was the passenger in the car accident as Clint Harris, the 126 paramedics, along with Detective Washington and Carlos, arrive at his house only to find out he’s suffering from septic shock due to rejecting the kidney.

While Carlos and Detective Washington stake out the location where the organ transplants are occurring, Grace gets a message on the dating app from Mike. Not being able to reach Carlos, Grace lets Detective McGregor know where she’s headed, hoping he’ll alert Carlos and Detective Washington.
Going to meet Mike at the bar, Mike drugs Grace’s drink, but pulling an uno reverse, Grace switches drinks with him unbeknownst to him. Before luring her out of the bar, Grace heads to the washroom, locking herself into a stall, shortly followed by Mike, who begins violently banging on the stall door.
Eventually bursting into the stall, Mike passes out, as the drugs take effect at the most convenient time. Bursting into the bathroom shortly after, Detective McGregor shows up, gun drawn.
Thoughts
I loved seeing Detective Washington and Carlos working together again, as when they work together, they always solve whatever case it is Carlos is helping with. We also learned why Carlos hasn’t taken the detective’s exam yet, and hearing him say it’s so he can help keep the community safe while out on patrol really shows how great of a cop Carlos is.

We also saw Grace team up with Carlos again and solve another case, and I loved seeing them work together again because Grace is such a badass character when she sets her mind to something.
With Robert’s reveal about Huntington’s Disease, I believe Owen and T.K. are going to get tested for it next episode, and I really hope T.K. doesn’t end up having it because of all the shit the show has put him through! At this point, T.K. needs a break from medical stuff happening to him!

Next Episode
Episode 4x16, ‘A House Divided,’ airs May 9.
4x16 synopsis: When Tommy and Judd disagree on a protocol during a rescue at a paper mill, a feud develops between the 126 EMS and Fire; Owen awaits news that could change his and T.K.’s lives forever.
Based on the promo for next episode, Judd orders the building to be evacuated, and while Tommy orders T.K. and Nancy out, she stays behind with the patient, just before the building explodes. This makes me nervous as I really hope that Tommy is okay.
