Emergency Rescues
The episode opens with a couple holding a yard sale as they prepare to move to separate houses since they’re going through a divorce. Their son doesn’t want them to break up, so he decides to hide in the cabinet being sold at the yard sale. When Carlos arrives to the call of their missing son, he finds their son, but their son is unconscious from heat stroke from being in the cabinet for too long. Carlos gets the kid into the kiddie pool at the yard sale to cool him down, as instructed by Grace. The kid eventually regains consciousness with his worried parents relieved.

The 126 responds to a Paper Mill on fire. A worker runs up to Tommy telling her her friend, Jimmy, is trapped in the paper room. As Tommy, TK and Nancy find the Jimmy, they find that he has internal bleeding. As the firefighters are sweeping the building, they hear an odd sound, which indicates the building might soon explode. As Judd gives Mayday orders to evacuate the building, Tommy orders TK and Nancy out and to get help from Judd to extricate the Jimmy. Judd rushes in to help Tommy and ends up amputating Jimmy’s arm with a fireman’s ax to extricate him, but they lose him on the way to the hospital. Back at the firehouse, Judd goes in on Tommy on disobeying his mayday order, which then starts a feud between EMS and the firefighters at the 126.

The 126 EMS arrive to an accident scene where a cyclist got hit by a car. When they get to the patient, Tommy, TK and Nancy realize it’s Wyatt, Judd’s son.
Arriving to the hospital, Judd asks how Wyatt is doing and is told he had some swelling in the brain, a fractured spine, and is currently in spinal surgery.
EMS Vs. Fire
Beginning the feud, Judd calls HR on Tommy about her refusal to follow his mayday orders.
At a double dinner date that Tommy, Trevor, Judd and Grace go on, Grace and Trevor try to ease the tension of the feud between Judd and Tommy, but as the discussion begins to get heated and turn into an argument, all four of them get kicked out of the restaurant for disturbing the environment.
The next day, TK and Nancy get into an argument with the 126 firefighters as they accuse their respective captains of ratting the other out to HR.
Hearing the arguing, Tommy and Judd appear and put an end to the arguing saying they might be two teams in the firehouse, but they’re a family.

Huntington’s Disease
T.K. finds out Huntington’s Disease runs in the family and Owen lets him know he got tested and will find out the results in 48 hours.
Later, after Owen has driven Robert back home to California, Robert says when he comes back to Texas for T.K. and Carlos’ wedding, he’s not going to return back to California with his family, as he wants Owen to help him die.
Tarlos
Carlos returns home late to T.K. waiting up, and after asking if everything’s alright, T.K. tells Carlos about the Hungtington’s Disease on his dad’s side of the family. As T.K. begins trying to give Carlos an out and saying he doesn’t expect him to marry him after this, Carlos says that they’re soulmates, and if it comes to T.K. having Huntington’s and losing his memory, Carlos says he’ll keep reminding TK who he is to him.
Later, T.K. gets a phone call from Owen about the results. Owen is negative for Huntington’s Disease, meaning T.K. is as well.
Thoughts
Earlier today, Ronen teased on Twitter that there would be a scene in today’s episode that was one of the most difficult for him to film in all his four seasons of the show.
That scene was the scene where T.K. tells Carlos about Huntington’s Disease, and Ronen acted his ass off in that scene. Whenever Ronen is in an emotional scene, he always kills the performance and makes the audience feel what his character is feeling. I was bawling during that scene due to Ronen’s superb emotional performance, and I was so relieved when T.K. found out he won’t end up getting Huntington’s Disease.
Next Episode
Episode 17, ‘Best of Men,’ and episode 18, ‘In Sickness and in Health,’ air on May 16 as a two-hour finale.
4X17 synopsis: Owen is conflicted when his brother Robert asks him for help.
4x18 synopsis: As T.K. and Carlos prepare for their wedding day, tragedy strikes.
Knowing Robert has asked Owen to help him die, I am nervous to watch what happens regarding that next week.
The Tarlos wedding happens next week to close out season four, and I am extremely excited to see T.K. and Carlos get married! As seen in the promo, T.K. is wearing a Jewish headpiece, which I know Ronen wanted for his character, as Ronen is Jewish, himself. I’m wondering what Ronen felt like having a Jewish tradition for the Tarlos wedding, and am excited to see the entirety of the wedding next week to see Tarlos finally get married, but to also see what other traditions T.K. and Carlos had at their wedding.
