911 Lone Star 5x03 'C12' Recap/Review

Train Derailment

Following the explosion, the firefighters on the scene discover one of the train cars has been punctured and is now spewing a deadly toxic chlorine gas. Owen tasks Marjan with repairing the hole, but when he tells her to then pull back due to it not working, she disobeys orders, resulting in an injury. Later, after almost missing a victim in the train derailment if it weren't for Paul noticing the person's hat, the 126 find Remy trapped in one of the train cars.

TNT

After seeing to injuries at the train derailment explosion, Tommy, Nnacy, and TK get called to an elementary school to treat a boy who has a chemical burn on his arm in the middle of an evacuation. After treating the child, the paramedic trio learn of a possible victim, a news reporter, Trina, who may have fallen victim to the chlorine gas, thus leading to the trio to stay behind at the school to search for her, amidst the encroaching chlorine cloud. Finding her, they make their way into a classroom to hunker down from the cloud, but rescuing Trina is fruitless, as she sucumbs to her injuries, leaving Tommy, Nancy, and TK trapped in the classroom and preparing for their own deaths, as the cloud grows closer.

Tommy

After Trevor's ultimatum to Tommy about Cassandra vetting her and her kids, Tommy is not currently speaking to Trevor in this episode. Tommy calls Carlos to come babysit Evie and Izzy while she's on shift, but when Carlos arrives to the Vega household, Trevor is there with his daughter Melody, already watching the twins. After surviving the impending chlorine cloud, Tommy makes up with Trevor at the end of the episode.

Judd

While driving the truck around on the trial run, Judd hears over the fire radio that the 126 need assistance. Driving to the location of where they are, Judd uses the truck to move the train container out of danger of the chlorine cloud, allowing the firefighters to focus on getting Remy out of the container.

Paul and Marjan

At the end of the episode, Owen gathers the team together to announce who he's choosing as the station's lieutenant. Before he chooses, he announces that Judd is back as the station's new probie. Marjan then suggests Paul should be named lieutenant because she had an err in judgment, disobeyed direct orders, and didn't notice Remy's hat at the train derailment scene, thus almost missing saving a victim. Following Marjan's words, Owen appoints Paul as the station's new lieutenant.

Thoughts

I loved seeing TNT shine in their rescues this episode, and was really anxious for them when they were trapped in the classroom. Knowing TK and his luck, it was no surprise that he was at risk of near death again.

I was really happy Paul got handed the lieutenant position, and I'm excited to see him shine in his new role.

I loved seeing Judd return because now the whole fire fam is back together, which I was very happy to see.

5x04 synopsis: The 126 are called on the scene to a hoarder's rat-infested house, then are trapped in an elevator as a woman goes into labor. Tommy and Trevor host his ex-wife Cassandra for dinner which goes awry.
