Tarlos
This episode starts out with TK and Carlos attending a therapy session, because TK feels like he and Carlos are starting to drift apart due to Carlos' obsession into his father's murder case. TK points out that Carlos is not present when he's at home, and he gets home late most nights, leading to Carlos pointing out that most nights is not the case and that dinner last night was an exception. A flashback of dinner last night comes on, with TK and Carlos making out after dinner, but when TK goes to kiss Carlos down his stomach, Carlos lets out a snore. TK is angry Carlos fell asleep during their sexy time. Later, Carlos is worried about what to get TK for their anniversary, but after working a case, he knows what to get him. The night before their anniversary, Carlos gets home early, which surprises TK, who also gets home early, and when TK is forced to reveal his anniversary gift to Carlos, TK forces Carlos to do the same. Carlos' gift is an empty banker's box in which he's going to put his case files, his phone, and his work computer inside when he gets home every night, so that TK is his priority when he's at home. He's putting his obsessions away, because every second he gets with TK is a gift, and he's done wasting it.

126 Rescues
The 126 respond to two rescues this episode. The first one being a horse, Thunder, that barrels into a brewery with an unconscious man on its back. The firefighters get to the brewery, but Thunder bolts out of the brewery, leading to the 126 to chase down him down in their firetruck with Owen standing on top of the truck with a lasso. Managing to lasso Thunder, the firefighters are then able to help transfer the unconscious man to the stretcher, where it's determined by Tommy that the man is deceased.
The second rescue they respond to is a bus full of people who spontaneously start seizing. One patient who is seizing, appear to be choking, so Tommy peers into her mouth to get at what it may be, and it's discovered that the people on the bus are unknowingly smuggling drugs into the country.
Texas Rangers
The Texas Rangers take the case of the drug smuggling this episode, and to solve it, they rely on a deceased victim giving them access to her phone via face ID. Managing to unlock her phone, they find the location of the suspect, where they find a hidden stash room of drugs.
Owen
After the 126 firefighters save Thunder and his unconscious rider, Owen contacts the son of deceased owner. After hearing Thunder is dangerous and the son is planning on taking him in to be put down, Owen decides to keep Thunder temporarily, because if he couldn't save the owner, at least he's saving Thunder. At the end of the episode, Judd introduces Owen to Wyatt's mom, who has a barn which she is allowing Thunder to stay at.
Thoughts
I loved seeing the steamy Tarlos scene after their dinner, and really enjoyed it when Carlos started snorting part way through their make out session. The look on TK's face when he realized Carlos was asleep was hilarious.
I really loved the storyline of Owen and the horse, because he said he saw a soul in Thunder's eyes, and with the grief he's holding from assisting with his brother's suicide, he believes he can save Thunder when he couldn't help his brother. I'm excited to see what transpires with Thunder.
Next Episode
Episode six, 'Naked Truth,' airs on November 4.
5x06 synopsis: The 126 race to save a man crushed under a vending machine. Owen finally faces the truth of his brother's death. Mateo and Nancy scramble to delete a nude photo of her accidentally sent to the 126.
