Owen
Bogged down by the grief he's holding from helping assist with his brother's suicide, Owen is having trouble taming and connecting with Thunder, as the horse can sense he's holding something in. One night, at the station, Owen, sleepwalking, walks over to Mateo's bunk and almost chokes him, before getting awoken from whatever trance he's in. Realizing he needs to talk, Owen heads to Marlene's barn, where he goes into Thunder's stall and tells him about what he did to help his brother. After telling Thunder, Owen starts hallucinating the animals talking in the barn before falling unconscious. When he wakes in Marlene's house, he realizes there's a gas leak somewhere in the barn, and helps rescue Thunder from the barn that's on fire by riding Thunder out of the barn as it explodes. Later, Owen enlists the help of the 126 to come help rebuild the barn for Marlene.

Wyatt
Working his 911 dispatch shift, Wyatt picks up a call from a man in the back seat of a cop car who is calling because the cop crashed his car, is unconscious, and the car is filling up with smoke. Knowing the prisoner might be dead before help can arrive, Wyatt instructs the caller on how to break himself out of the back of the cop car, instructing him to then help the officer once he's out. When officer Lexi Mitchell arrives on scene, she sees the prisoner helping the injured officer get away from the car and to safety.
Nancy
After a nude photo of Nancy accidentally gets sent to the 126 group chat, Nancy and Mateo go around the firehouse trying to delete the photo off people's phones. Not being able to delete it off Tommy's phone yet, Tommy calls Nancy into her office and tells her she's concerned about a bump on one of Nancy's breasts. Tommy suggests Nancy make an appointment for a mammogram, and when Nancy shows up to her appointment, Tommy also shows up, saying she also booked a mammogram.

Tommy
Going in for a routine mammogram, Tommy receives news from her doctor that she has breast cancer.
126 Rescue
The only rescue the 126 responded to this episode, was to a man named Otto, who got his hand stuck inside a vending machine, and when he attempted to pull his hand out, the vending machine tipped over, landing on him. The 126 learn Otto has been under the vending machine for a couple hours, so concerns are he may have crush syndrome when they pull him out. When they eventually do pull him out, it seems like pushing fluids seems to help, but Otto eventually succumbs to his crush injuries.
Thoughts
It was hilarious watching Nancy and Mateo going around the firehouse trying to delete the nude photo off of everyone's phones, especially the excuses they were coming up with to get access to people's phones.
I loved seeing the progress of Owen trying to tame Thunder, and absolutely loved when he connected with Thunder by telling him about his brother's assisted suicide. Animals really do sense your emotions, and if you're not fully there, they won't be open to you if you're not open to them.
I love seeing Wyatt coming into his own in his dispatch job. He's a really compassionate person, and I'm happy he was able to get a job where he could still help people.
I'm nervous and sad for Tommy and what she's going to start going through with her cancer diagnosis, and I'm not looking forward to what we're going to be seeing of her storyline because I'm sad for her.
Next Episode
Episode seven, 'Kiddos,' airs on November 11.
5x07 synopsis: TK gets a huge surprise on his 30th birthday when he stepdad and young half-brother arrive in Austin. Tommy is determined to push through her latest crisis. The 126 must perform a dangerous surgery after a man is impaled in a tree.
